| Disappointed |
| I got married in January of 2010. It was a last minute wedding - only 3 month to plan it out, so finding the perfect gown was absolutely difficult. My wedding photographer's had recommended Jaehee Bridal. It's a boutique store, but they have a lot of designer wedding gowns I like. I went to check it out on that weekend. They were having a sample sale, the sales rep who helped me was an middle age Italian lady... very nice and knows what she's talking about. We introduced each other, I told her my situation and also how quickly I need the gown. She brought me 5 gowns to try on, I fell in love with the 3rd gown I tried on (it was love at first sight). Absolutely gorgeous, it fit me perfectly and it was totally my style. We negotiated an awesome deal on the gown (It was originally $6,000. Since it's a sample and it's right before the Christmas, I was able to knock it down to $2,300, the sales lady also threw in alteration for free, but I had to pay for the French bustle.. done!). I was happy and relieved!
Next time I went back to the store (after Christmas) to get a fitting, I also brought my mom. She needed formal wear for the wedding. The previous sales lady was busy, so another girl (I think her name is Maui) helped us. We spent a good amount time there to went through all the outfits. We fell in love with this green 3 piece suit for my mom. The outfit looked great on my mom (very Oscar de La Renta). The original price was $800, but it's the last one, so we were able to get it for $500 (plus $150 alteration). Both my mom and myself got the fitting on the same day. That was a huge plus! But when we went to pay for my gown and my mom's outfit. Maui started question why I am paying so little for my wedding gown? She asked the Italian lady why she gave me the alteration for free. They started going back and forth all in front of us and the rest of the customers. She began to throw things around and gave us plenty of attitude. After we paid, she went back to the office and slammed the door without even say "Thank you" or "Good bye". We left angry and confused!
The next time we came back to store (to pick up my gown and my mom's outfit). My mom tried on her outfit and immediately she noticed there's something wrong with the shoulders. We've noticed there's only one shoulder pad sewed in on the left side and nothing on the right side. We asked Maui, and she said my mom's left shoulder is lower than the right side, that's why they sewed it in like that. And she kept on saying she had told us that the last time we were there. But why does anyone want to sew one shoulder pad on a formal jacket? We would definitely said "No" if we were asked. We were very disappointed at the situation, and wanted to speak to the manager. Jaehee (the owner) stopped by and deffended Maui. I asked them if they could sew in the other should pad, and they said they DON'T have any matching shoulder pad in the store, we would need to go and purchase shoulder pads ourselves and pay for additional for alteration fee. My wedding gown also ended up being 2 inches shorter than I asked for (my feet are showing, and the fabric looked uneven on both sides). The French bustle (which I paid $150 additional for) looked terrible and uneven.
There was nothing we could do and left VERY angry. With 2 weeks away from my wedding, we had to go to another seamstress and get them fixed! This is NOT acceptable. And I really hope they could give better services. People should not leave a bridal salon angry. |
